Since 1979, Museum Bramberg has been housed in the Wilhelmgut, one of the oldest houses in Bramberg. The museum presents the history and culture of the region through permanent and temporary exhibitions.
The main theme of the permanent exhibition is the history of Bramberg and its surroundings. Visitors can learn about the history of industry and agriculture in the region, local costumes and traditional food. One of the most interesting parts of the exhibition are the "Bramberger Schätze" (Bramberg treasures), which show many aspects of local life. Visitors can see tools, clothes, jewellery and other objects used in the region, reflecting its rich history.
The museum has 3 exhibitions in the lower, upper and attic parts of the building.
In the lower part, you will find the "Emeralds and Crystals" exhibition, where the crystal treasures of the Hohe Tauern will enchant visitors, who will discover minerals of aesthetic and richness of form like nowhere else.
The upper part of the house houses the exhibition "Man and Culture". Here you can find out more about the history of the Wilhelmgut House, the life of the emerald green village of Bramberg, religious folk art and the region's diverse flora and fauna.
Finally, in the attic, there is an exhibition of beekeeping with a beehive, where you will find a number of old beekeeping tools, educational information and a film about the working methods of bees.
Temporary exhibitions usually focus on different themes from the region. The museum also organises different thematic exhibitions, for example commemorating a particular period or event. These exhibitions provide a unique opportunity for visitors to learn more about the rich cultural heritage and history of the Pinzgau region.
The interactive exhibitions also offer visitors a special experience. For example, one of the exhibitions allows visitors to learn about the region's coal mines and their history. Visitors can touch the tools and equipment used by the coal miners and experience what it was like to work in the dark, damp mines.
A visit to Museum Bramberg can be an interesting and exciting experience for those interested in history and culture, as well as for families and individual travellers!
